Local Heroes

As part of our whole school focus on Local Heroes, Class 3 began by discussing what a hero was and what actions they may have to do in life to be considered a hero. From this, we then began to consider heroes in our local community such as Wakefield and then on to the wider locality ‘Yorkshire’.

Each child was then assigned the task and finding out about a particular local hero of their choosing. This could have been a sportsperson, an artist, an actor or even someone they personally know. Below are just a couple of examples of work produced on their local hero.
